Presentations

Dr Mike O'Connor, Smartia - From Data Exploration to Production: Putting AI to Work

Mike will present some of the challenges facing a business that is considering the adoption of AI,
and the lessons we've learned at Smartia that have been incorporated into our ML infrastructure.

Richard Holmes, Arrow ECS - IoT and AI – European Adoption & Trends

Richard will discuss some of the trends and challenges that they see partners and end clients facing today and how tactical use of AI is extending into the industrial vertical having gained traction in Finance & Legal markets.

Dr Bo Luo, The University of Sheffield - How to use transfer learning and GANs to increase Deep Learning performance in manufacturing.

Bo will discuss the problem of manufacturing data quality and its use in developing deep learning models. Deep learning requires a large amount of data to learn from, however manufacturing data can be of poor quality which limits its usage. Bo talks about how using transfer learning and GANs could solve this challenge.

Tikiri Wanduragala, Lenovo DCG - Harnessing the Power of AI
AI offers great potential as well as challenges to organisations. Lenovo as a global supplier of smart infrastructure partner with SW providers and customers to build practical solutions that bring out the full potential of AI. Also a look at customer behaviour during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Juan Jaramillo, Schlumberger - Machine Learning Edge implementations in the Oil & Gas industry
Exploring two applications of AI on the upstream energy sector.  Firstly, ML on the edge facilitating decision making in remote operations and secondly, edge intelligence enabling data processing and real-time decision making for downhole systems with low telemetry rates.
